The Donosti Cup is the #1 soccer tournament in Southern Europe.

The vibrant city of San Sebastian hosts this event with over 900 teams from more than 20 countries. San Sebastián is widely known for being a Capital City of European Culture and sits only 12 miles from the French border on the picturesque Bay of Biscay. Our Premier International Tours staff – Chris and Darlene Miller - was present to make sure all our teams were taken care of by the accommodating and professional staff of the Donosti Cup.

The tournament kicked off with an impressive opening ceremony in the Real Sociedad stadium. Approximately 30,000 people attended a fantastic show filled with professional singers, musicians, lighting and music where each team was spotlighted in the Opening Parade. Tournament games take place on fields in and around San Sebastian. Many of our teams ended up playing in picturesque local towns where the vistas matched the quality of play. The drive to many of these fields alone is an incredible excursion in itself. Teams who reach the finals have the opportunity to play in the stadium of Real Sociedad, one of the top La Liga teams.

The city of San Sebastian offers endless sightseeing options (Old Town, Ondaretta Beach and Monte Igueldo to name a few) and the second highest concentration of Michelin rated restaurants in the world. Other great sightseeing options include short trips to beach cities such as Biarritz (France), Saint Jean de Luz (France), Hendaye, Pasaia and more. Game of Thrones fans can visit the setting of Dragonstone Beach in the nearby seaside town of Zumaia or just spend the day in one of the other beach locations only a short drive from San Sebastian. The Running of the Bulls in Pamplona is just over an hour away.

The Premier International Tours staff met with the Donosti Cup staff to secure the best hotel and travel options for teams interested in traveling in 2025.
