Premier International Tours brought 35 coaches from across the United States on our annual Royal Netherlands Soccer Federation (KNVB) Coaches Tour

Last weekend, Premier International Tours brought 35 coaches from across the United States on our annual Royal Netherlands Soccer Federation (KNVB) Coaches Tour. This all-inclusive 5-day soccer tour is offered free of charge to our customers and partners, thanking them for the opportunity to send them all over the world during the previous year. This incentive tour included a packed program of top-notch coaching education and soccer fan activities.

The program began on Friday morning, where the coaches and our staff took a canal cruise to explore the Dutch capital of Amsterdam. Following some sightseeing, the group visited FC Utrecht, with a stadium and facilities tour led by the FC Utrecht icon Koos van Tamelen and finished with an in-depth youth development presentation led by Jan van Loon of FC Utrecht. After this the group went to Zeist, where the group was accommodated at the hotel where the Dutch National Teams are housed during their international training camps. Following a dinner at the KNVB campus, the coaches were treated to their first education classroom session with KNVB international coaches.

On day 2, the day kicked off with another education classroom session at the KNVB. Following this, the group set off for the PSV Eindhoven training grounds. There, the group listened to talks regarding player development, and how the culture of the club is used to grow players into stars. The group was also able to speak with Pieter Schrassert Bert, the coach of PSV’s U17 boys’ team, currently in the top of the Netherlands, where he discussed the team’s tactics and answered questions from the group. Following this, the group attended 3 youth games of different age levels at the club. After this, the group headed over to downtown Eindhoven to watch PSV Eindhoven take on NAC Breda in a win for PSV.

The 3rd day started with another KNVB education classroom session. Following this, the group headed back to Amsterdam to participate in more sightseeing and shopping, before heading north to the city of Alkmaar. There the group attended the game of AZ Alkmaar vs. Sparta Rotterdam, a game that saw 2 extra time goals, leading to a victory for Sparta. Following this great game, the group headed back to the KNVB campus for a farewell dinner, presentation of Certificates of Participation and closing Q&A.
