The Alfred University Saxons Men’s soccer program recently returned from an amazing trip to England!
The Alfred University Saxons Men’s soccer program from New York have recently returned from an amazing trip to England which took place the beginning of March. While in England the group spent time in London and the Manchester/Liverpool area. The Saxons played 3 matches on the tour against local U21 club teams from Lancashire in the London area and Chorley in the Manchester area. The group was also fortunate enough to visit an EPL match featuring Arsenal and toured three of the most well-known soccer landmarks in England/the world – Wembley, Anfield (Liverpool FC) and Old Trafford (Man. Utd.) stadiums. The team fully took advantage of their time in England with some prime sightseeing.
In London they visited The Tower of London, The Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, The London Eye, Trafalgar Square and Covent Garden. While in Northern England the group visited The Rows, a historic shopping center with unique architecture as well as York Minster (Cathedral). Tracy Blake, Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Alfred University, summarized the trip well by saying, “From beginning to end Premier International Tours treated us like a top professional team on tour. Preparation and implementation of the schedule was perfect and when changes had to be made in the program they were accomplished with ease. Food and accommodations were excellent. I would definitely say that PIT and the Saxon Nation at Alfred University will have a partnership throughout the coming years.”
