Boston Breakers and NEFC traveled to Barcelona, Spain with 3 of their teams
While most clubs are indoors training for spring season NEFC had the unique opportunity to spend 8 days in Barcelona, Spain to start getting ready for the upcoming season. The 2002 Boys NPL team, U14/15 Girls Academy, and U19 Girls Academy made the trip.
"It was a great opportunity for us that most teams don't get to have," said Steve Grimshaw Academy Coach. "Premier International Tours did a fantastic job helping experience being in a different culture. It was also nice to be able to get a head start going into preseason."
Each team got a minimum of 3 games throughout the week against local competition.
“Just spending time in another culture not only brings you together on the field, but off of it as well. The spring season is so condensed with a lot of games and training's there isn't a lot of time to build team chemistry.” Said NEFC Vice President Jason Braga
Along with the games the groups got to play beach soccer, train with RCD Espanyol, visit sights in Barcelona including Sagrada Familia and Las Ramblas, as well as visit Girona and Montserrat.
NEFC looks forward to making this an annual tradition!
