2nd Annual Dallas international soccer festival 2016 A HUGE SUCCESS

The 2016 Dallas International Soccer Festival concluded on Sunday with final matches that lived up to the excitement of the tournament all week. This year the tournament welcomed 4 nations including Germany, Mexico, Canada, and the United States. On Wednesday evening we kicked off the tournament with the first games of the group stages. Thursday and Friday the group stages continued, as each game was completed group divisions were narrowed down to the teams that would advance to the semis and semifinals. Saturday teams competed to advance to the finals.

This year we welcomed Andries Jonker, the Academy Manager from Arsenal FC, one of the top pro clubs in the world in England, to the Dallas International Soccer Festival. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday afternoon Andries conducted his classroom coaching session for coaches that had teams in the tournament at the Omni Dallas Hotel Parkwest. Thursday and Friday evening Andries took to the field and trained with the Dallas Texans U18 USSDA team, on Saturday evening he trained with the Dallas Texans U17 ECNL Girls team.

Cheetos, a sponsor of the Dallas International Soccer festival, brought their very own freestyle fútbol team, Los Cheetahs, to the tournament to show off the squad’s fun freestyle soccer skills and teach players new tricks. Teams watched entertaining performances, checked out freestyle demos, and participate in activities to win cool prizes and sample Cheetos different flavors.
