The Eastlake HS soccer team in El Paso, Texas made a dream a reality

The New Year started out on a high note for the Eastlake High School boys and girls high school teams from El Paso. In late December-early January of 2015-2016 the Eastlake boys and girls high school teams embarked on a trip to Barcelona, Spain to play Spanish teams and experience the Spanish culture and sights over the holidays. The boys team played 4 games and the girls team played 3 games vs. local Spanish club teams. The boys team ended the trip with a 2-2 record and the girls finished with a 1-2 record. After each game the players got a chance to socialize with their counterparts from Spain to share their passion of soccer and learn more about each other’s culture and daily lives, a truly special experience. The group did a ton of quality sight-seeing as well including Camp Nou, home of FC Barcelona, Sagrada Familia, all the sights of Barcelona and Girona as well as Montserrat (mountain-top monastery outside of Barcelona). However, if you ask the players the highlight of the trip was visiting the FC Barcelona vs. Real Betis game where the players got to see Messi and company in person! Coach Widner stated after the trip, “The arrangements and games set up by Premier International Tours was amazing. We could not be happier with them as they were with us every step of the way. They are a world class travel agency. The trip was definitely one to remember and we are looking forward to doing it again in 3-4 years with a different group of high school students. Thanks again”
