Greece is a well know soccer country with many successes. The National Greece Team have qualified for the European Championship four times, their first in 1980, their second in 2004, their third in 2008 and their fourth in 2012. 2004 was their most successful run as they became champions by defeating hosts Portugal in the finals. In Greek club history, the most successful team is Olympiacos FC, having won the most league titles with 47, followed by Panathinaikos FC with 20 titles and AEK Athens FC with 12 titles; with Panathinaikos being the only Greek club to reach a UEFA Champions League final, which they lost in 1971 against Ajax.
Athens, the capital city of Greece, is an ancient city, steeped in many centuries of history. Home of the Olympics, the original modern-day Olympic Games were held in the city of Athens over 100 years ago. In 2004, the Olympic Games finally returned here and the city underwent an enormous facelift. Within Athens there are eight large hills, including the Acropolis. A trip to the Greek capital's most famous tourist attraction, the impressive Parthenon, built on the Acropolis around 2,500 years ago, will be memorable to say the least.
Thessaloniki is a Greek port city on the Thermaic Gulf of the Aegean Sea. Evidence of Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman history remains, especially around Ano Poli, the upper town. The ruins of Roman Emperor Galerius’ 4th-century palace include the Rotunda that has been both a church and a mosque. Much of the city center was destroyed in the Great Fire of 1917.

"Overall, our daughter had a great trip and was very happy with how everything went. Our other family members were very pleased as well. The way that your trips are scheduled, it allowed them time to explore on their own as well as be with the rest of the group if they would have liked."
